Maurizio Lampis was born in Cagliari on July 24, 1976.
His passion for LEGO® bricks began at the age of 6, when he received a Medieval Castle set as a Christmas gift.
He has been a professional Brick Builder since 2015, when he co-founded the Karalisbrick Cultural Association, which currently includes four other members.
In 2021, he created the KARALISBRICK Brick Museum, which became a traveling exhibition throughout Sardinia. To date, it has held 70 events across the island.
The Museum now has a permanent location in Capoterra (CA).
"The art of
communicating
through bricks"
Among his most notable creations is St. Mark’s Square in Venice, featured on the official LEGO® Instagram pages for ITALY, FRANCE, GERMANY, and the UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.
In 2024, he collaborated with LEGO® ITALIA both for the grand opening of the only LEGO® Store in Sardinia — located in the “Le Vele” Shopping Center in Quartucciu (CA) — and for the celebration of the store’s first anniversary by organizing exhibitions and children’s workshops.
He has also been teaching for 7 years through educational courses in collaboration with schools and associations, with around 6,000 participants in his dedicated workshops.
Special mention goes to his 28 projects dedicated to Sardinian monuments, and 6 major National Monuments — including the Trevi Fountain, Piazza del Plebiscito and the Collemaggio Basilica — all built without the use of any digital design software.
Other noteworthy creations include a life-sized British phone booth and a bust of legendary footballer Gigi Riva, personally autographed by Riva himself and displayed at the Football Museum in Coverciano for one month.
Among the most recent works are the paintings portraying tennis star Jannik Sinner, the iconic Maradona, the legendary Gianfranco Zola, and women’s volleyball star Alessia Orro.
Lampis’ lifelong motto:
LEGO®: the art of communicating through bricks.
