Home Alone
This set celebrates the cult movie of the same name from 1990, starring actor Macaulay Culkin as the young Kevin McCallister. In the movie, the McCallister family is preparing to leave for Paris to celebrate Christmas. Kevin is not thrilled about the plan, partly because he doesn’t appreciate his family, from whom he feels isolated and ridiculed. On the night before departure, following an incident at the dinner table, Kevin is sent to sleep in the attic, but not before accidentally turning off his parents’ alarm clock. The next morning, Peter (John Heard) and Kate (Catherine O’Hara) wake up late, fearing they will miss their flight to France. In their rush, Kate forgets about Kevin in the attic. When the boy wakes up, he discovers that the house is empty and his parents have left without him. However, his initial excitement is dampened by the arrival of two burglars, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), who have targeted the McCallister home. After the initial scare, Kevin decides to do everything he can to save his house. Meanwhile, Kate is desperately trying to get back to her son. This set consists of 3955 pieces and is part of the LEGO Ideas line. Among its features, we can see numerous details and Easter eggs that refer to different scenes from the movie, such as the basement scene, Kevin’s strategic retreat to the treehouse, the anti-burglar traps placed by Kevin around the house and in the attic, and the famous battle plan devised by the brave protagonist.
