Ancient Rome features 2 world-renowned historical monuments of the capital, the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. The Colosseum is a LEGO set, with its 9,000 bricks being one of the largest ones the Danish company has put on the market. The Trevi Fountain, on the other hand, is a diorama entirely built by Maurizio Lampis. Created in 2021 in 5 months of work, it is made up of 20,548 bricks. It is a UNIQUE creation for its minifigure scale size, and has totaled about 8 million views on social media and news outlets worldwide. The Latin inscriptions and all the minifigures that simulate the statues, with the 5 most famous ones at the bottom representing Ocean, Health, Abundance, and the 2 tritons accompanied by winged horses, perfectly reflect the historical fountain’s criteria, including Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Ekberg’s characters simulating the famous scene from Federico Fellini’s film La Dolce Vita. The Trevi Fountain embarked on a tour called I LOVE Rome with LEGO, which exhibited it throughout Italy with 18 stops, including exhibitions in Portofino and Milan.
