Mosaic of Saint Efisio
Made with 4,500 pieces, the Mosaic of Saint Efisio is a beautiful representation of the martyr who saved Cagliari from the plague in 1656. From then on, the city councilors of Cagliari vowed to perpetually celebrate Saint Efisio annually to thank him for the restored health. This unique piece not only celebrates the faith and devotion of the people of Cagliari but also showcases the incredible detail and beauty that can be achieved with LEGO bricks. The mosaic is a tribute to Saint Efisio, a symbol of hope and protection for the city.
Chariot of Saint Efisio
A small reproduction of the chariot that carries the statue of the Saint during the annual procession held in May. During this event, everyone wears the traditional costume of their place of origin, representing the celebration of all of Sardinia, a moment of strong communal identity. The parade also features the traccas (ox-drawn carts decorated and adorned for the celebration), which display work tools, handcrafted objects, and finely made traditional bread and sweets. After the passage of the chariot with the saint’s statue, the procession continues in a more intimate and subdued tone to Nora, where the statue remains exposed for the veneration of the faithful, before returning to Cagliari.
