The Bay of Discord
The diorama in front of you represents a cult project by Maurizio Lampis: the Medieval Era. The author, born and raised in the LEGO world with this very theme, created a Castle scenario entitled The Bay of Discord.
It depicts a battle between two factions fighting for control over a massive castle located in a stunning bay, with one of the armies already lined up on the beach, ready to assault the fortress walls.
A medieval village enriches the scene with houses, a watermill, and a mysterious hideout of Robin Hood, the Prince of Thieves, who—along with his loyal followers—gathers treasures and gold coins. In the highest tower, you might spot the wizard Merlin, while lower down, a mysterious ghost can be seen lurking.
With its 90,000 bricks, this is one of the largest projects ever built by Maurizio. To enhance realism and evoke the aged look of ancient medieval fortresses, he used a large number of discolored bricks to build the castle.
Constructed on three separate baseplates, it weighs nearly 70 kg and is designed to allow for continuous updates and upgrades.
