Mosaic and Carriage of Saint Efisio

Mosaic of Saint Efisio

Created with 4,500 pieces, the Mosaic of Saint Efisio is a wonderful representation of the martyr who saved Cagliari from the plague in 1656. From that time, the councilors of Cagliari pledged the city to the perpetual vow of annually celebrating Saint Efisio to thank him for the restored health. This unique piece not only celebrates the faith and devotion of the people of Cagliari but also showcases the incredible detail and beauty that can be achieved with LEGO bricks. The mosaic is a tribute to Saint Efisio, a symbol of hope and protection for the city.

Carriage of Saint Efisio

A small reproduction of the carriage of Saint Efisio, made up of 350 bricks. The carriage carries the statue of the Saint during the annual procession, which takes place in May. During this event, everyone wears the traditional costume of their place of origin, representing a celebration for all of Sardinia, a moment of strong identity cohesion. The procession also features the “traccas” (decorated and festively adorned ox-drawn carts), which carry work tools, handcrafted items, and finely crafted traditional breads and sweets. After the passage of the carriage with the statue of the saint, the procession continues in a more intimate and subdued tone to Nora, where the statue will remain on display for the veneration of the faithful, before returning to Cagliari.
